Pearson Marketing Intern - Tradeshow Coordinator (Utah) in Lehi, Utah

Certiport, a Pearson VUE business, the world leader in performance-based certification exams and practice test solutions, is seeking a talented marketing intern to assist the Event Marketing Manager in coordinating and executing the 2016 tradeshow schedule.

Internship Overview: This internship is most suited for undergraduate or graduate students currently studying in a marketing-related discipline. This internship will provide exposure to the tradeshow event marketing program at Certiport. This candidate will work with a variety of marketing and sales personnel on the greater Certiport team. This program offers opportunities to contribute to numerous marketing disciplines, including budget and project management, event management, and marketing metrics. The intern will develop his/her skills in communications, budgeting and event management.

Intern Responsibilities: You will be an individual contributor, reporting to the Event Marketing Manager. You will be responsible for administrative duties associated with the tactical execution of all activities related to the Certiport tradeshow schedule.

Salary Offer

  • $18 - $20 per hour, depends on the final recommendation of the Hiring Managers

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

The candidate will work directly with the Event Marketing Manager to organize and execute all the necessary details related to each tradeshow to ensure success. This includes staffing requirements, scheduling, promotional materials, shipping, and all other details related to each event. The candidate will also support the Event Marketing Manager in managing and tracking an assigned budget for the year. He/she will also be responsible for tracking and passing along, to the sales team, all the leads generated at the events.

  1. 80% Tactical execution of trade shows program
  • Full event management of about 70 small-to-medium size exhibits, including all aspects of event logistics from development of content, production, venue management, promotions, employee coordination and other event-related responsibilities

  • Create and manage project schedules and timelines

  • Manage budgets, ensuring all events are executed within budget

  • Work with creative team to develop booth properties and materials

  • Work closely with shipping manager to manage event materials inventory and ensure that booth materials arrive on time at minimal cost

  • Interact with event properties, vendors, and partners as required

  1. 20% Reporting and post-event support
  • Nurture leads ensuring they are entered in Salesforce in a timely manner

  • Write and send post-show communications to event attendees

  • Create event reports and maintain database of event history, including photos

  • Track ROI and report regularly on results via email and in Quarterly Business Review

Schedule Requirements:

Our ideal candidate demonstrates teamwork, with the availability to work an assigned eight (8) work hour shift plus a one (1) hour unpaid lunch break between the hours of 8:00AM and 5:00PM Monday - Friday. Candidate must be open to flexible scheduling. Schedule changes, when necessary, will be communicated no less than two weeks in advance. This is a Hybrid position that allows for scheduled required “in office” days and scheduled “work from home” days.

  • Hybrid Office Work Schedule: 3 days in the office, 2 days WFH weekly

  • Availity to travel, when necessary

Qualifications and Skills

  • Currently actively pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in a marketing-related discipline in an accredited post-secondary institution

  • Ability to coordinate logistical details with show management

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, including public speaking

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail while working under tight time constraints

  • Self-management skills and self-starter attitude highly valued

  • Comfortable with fast-paced environment and rapidly changing priorities

  • Work effectively with peers, management and internal and external business partners, prospects and clients

  • Familiar with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Internet browsers (Internet Explorer, Mozilla/Firefox, etc.) Certification on Microsoft Office is preferred.
