Pearson HR Operations Lead - Australia & SEA (Country Care) in Australia

Our team: The Country Care HR team sits within HR Operations. Our team has a geographical, in-country focus on operational excellence and compliance. We are also the executors and experts of local intelligence.

About the role: Passionate about employee experience, the Country Care HR Lead - Australia and Southeast Asia, will report to the Global Director of Country Care. This role will be an operational driver and thought leader that will introduce a new leading-edge capability, meant to eliminate productivity barriers and make each employee’s experience easier.

This position will lead a small regional HR team who understand the nuance, language and customs within each country in the region. As the voice of the local perspective among HR and business leaders across Australia and Southeast Asia, you will translate the global Pearson people priorities into something successfully ‘g'local'.

This position will partner with HR Business Partners of each business division, Centers of Excellence, shared services (“People Care”), Payroll, Solutions (IT), and Finance, to keep Pearson competitive and compliant. Your #1 customer is every employee doing business with HR. You will be responsible for providing consumer-grade offerings, consistently applied across our diverse geographies.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • A Tertiary Degree or relevant work experience in HR

  • HR expertise of labour knowledge and compliance in Australia (and ideally Southeast Asia).

  • Proven ability to be hands-on while leading and developing a small, diverse and globally dispersed team (highly regarded).

  • Worked withing a matrixed global HR team

  • Disciplined at maintaining HR operational fundamentals in a multinational business environment

  • Gifted at executing corporate strategies into locally relevant applications.

  • Knowledge of how HR delivers business value across business-aligned partnerships and centers of excellence.

  • Experience building successful stakeholder relationships and working within a complex multifunctional environment
